Why this blog?

So I've been an on and off blogger at my personal blog Wanderings Toward the Narrow Gate, usually a general mish-mash of all the random happenings in my life. One of those happenings however, has been restarting my much neglected love of books, which took a back-burner position when I was in graduate school. My plan with this blog is to keep note of the books I read, new discoveries, books I'd like to read and my thoughts about them. My hope is to read at least 50 books a year (2011 may be a long shot, but bring on 2012!), and my tastes run the gamut - fiction to non-fiction, classics to contemporary, scholarly to guilty pleasure easy reads.
